Cenforce Side Effects
Adverse effects of drugs
In the early twentieth century, the German scientist Paul Ehrlich defined the ideal drug with the expression "magic bullet". This drug was supposed to precisely target the site of a disease without harming healthy tissue. While many new drugs are more accurately targeted than their predecessors, none of them have fully achieved their goal so far.
Most drugs have numerous effects, while only one effect is usually required for the treatment of a disease, namely the therapeutic one. The other effects are undesirable, both when they are inherently harmful and when they are not. For example, sildenafil and similar drugs, in addition to helping improve erectile function, induce a minor drop in blood pressure. When taking nitrate-based drugs, the drop in blood pressure is considered a therapeutic effect. However, if an ED drug is taken to keep ED symptoms under control during the day, blood pressure changes and related headache, nausea, etc., are considered an annoying and unwanted effect.
Why does sildenafil have side effects?
Like all medicines, sildenafil pills also have contraindications. The side effects of any drug are directly related to its medicinal effect. Sildenafil improves the blood flow, but to achieve that, the walls of the blood vessels should be dilated, and this can cause the changes in blood pressure we described above.
Many find it quaint that the original sildenafil tablet color is blue, and the notorious side effect of the drug is cyanopsia – blue vision. Is this a coincidence? As a matter of fact, it is. The most common problem experienced by patients taking sildenafil is a different perception of colors (obviously only temporary). This is due to the fact that sildenafil in addition to blocking the PDE5 enzyme also involuntarily acts on PDE6, an enzyme that is found in the retina of the eye.
And this is why it can happen to you: thanks to the PDE5 block, the cGMP can continue to do its job (relax the muscles of the penile arteries) and thus increase the blood flow to get to an erection. If by chance the PDE5 had also been produced in other parts of the body, it would not have been possible to use it because its blockage would probably have caused unwanted situations. Cyanopsia caused by the use of sildenafil is fleeting and disappears with the end of the drug’s effect duration.
